Latin Percussion LP480 Traditional Cabasa
There is nothing like the sound and precision of an Afuche/Cabasa. Based on the traditional African and Latin versions of the instrument, LP’s metal Afuche/Cabasa was the first of its kind. It was developed and patented over 40 years ago, and changed the sound of Latin Jazz before finding its way into music all over the world. Today it is one of the most popular hand percussion instruments ever created, and is considered an essential in the hand percussion toolbag. Latin Percussion offers a variety of sizes and styles of metal Afuche/Cabasas as well as a traditional style Cabasa. There are many knock-offs, but only one original. LP, the original.
LP's more durable version of its traditional African ancestor, this cabasa yields a bright, lively sound. Constructed of a plastic body with a lattice of Red and Black plastic beads, the cabasa offers great dynamic range and feel. Hold the body in the palm of one hand and turn the handle with the other to produce simple to complex rhythmic patterns.
